Biography

My name is Mandy Smidt. I currently live in Brookings, SD with my husband, Jason, and our baby girl, Logan. We are both alumni of DSU.  Jason also has gone through the MSCET program, graduating in the Spring of 2004.  I earned my Bachelor's of Science in Biology for Secondary Education with a minor in Computer Education in 2004 and decided to continue to pursue my education in the MSCET program.  Jason and I both played basketball for DSU.  After graduating in 1999 from Campbell County High School in Gillette, WY, I started school and participated in basketball at Northwest Community College in Powell, WY during 1999-2001.  I then transferred to DSU and finished my career making a trip to the National Tournament after winning the DAC-10 conference during my senior year in 2003 for the Lady T's.

I am currently a stay at home mom "working" full time with Logan.  Prior to this year, I taught at Deubrook Area Schools as a Computer/Business teacher, Head Volleyball Coach, Assistant Girls' Basketball Coach, and Assistant Track Coach.  I plan on working in some type of technology area in the Education field in the near future.  Jason is the Technology Integration Specialist at the Brookings School District.  He is also the Sophomore Girls' Basketball Coach for the Brookings Bobcats.
